The Epic OF Gılgamesh 2

Although it was written about 4000 years ago, it still takes our attention since the story is about humankind. Walls built around the city Uruk, walls which makes a border between the nature and the city life. Forests in which a secret lives, and a brave king who dares to go there without any fear. Gılgamesh is our hero who is looking for the meaning of life, and misses a longlasting life. Then, a new era begins with Endiku. We see the changes following one by one. The Uruk's people change because they are tired of this tyranny. They sent their pleas to the gods and godesses. Endıku changes from a man living in the wilderness to a man ready or willing to live in city. Moreover, Gıl. changes and becomes mature.

'Language lives as it is used.' Turgay Urgur.

Our main character, Gılgamesh who looks for eternity, sets off a dreadful journey, comes back as a changed man. 'What' he finds or learns is the mortality of men. But humankind will survive. He even loses the plant which will give youth, the serpant takes it away and learns to change its skin every year.

The people who worship him are also the ones have to be scrutinized in terms of their characters. Gılgamesh grips them professionally, perhaps this is due to his outlook, his beauty; maybe just on account of his power and wisdom. Power and wisdom the trigger as every time. They cherish him a king. Although they suffer the most from him, they do not fight against him since Enduki is sent from the above by the goddesses who thinks that control is being lost. As the two-third god 'Gılgamesh' loses his own control, a new version of him is sent who is brought up in the wilderness under the breast of animals. Moreover endiku is also the one who must be civilized by a prostitue. In my opinion, the most paradoxical part. I really wonder how can it be explained? She tought him to live in  a civil society. In history, maybe for the first and at the same time unfortunately the last time; modernity, civilization, agriculture, architecture, herding and ritual is given by a female god.

'And the deluge scene' maybe a classic one again. Life will restart again. Human shoud have taken the related lesson.
.... will go on later.

Endiku couldn't return back to his animal friends after he had slept with the prostitue as if animals don't want to have a friend who is under the control of a female. He tried to persuade the animals, but couldn't dissuade them. Now Endiku will be sent to Uruk, the kingship of Gılgamesh where people are invited to live in a more civilized place. Endiku will be able taste earthly pleasures such as food, music, fun, architecture.
